HELP WANTED
Volunteers are a vital part of the library program. There are many opportunities for service in the library. Among the goals of the library is the desire to instill a love of books for learning and for leisure. Help is needed as the books in the collection are circulated among students and faculty. Help is needed to process new materials as they are purchased. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Brittany Briggs by email. Or you may call the school office at 856.489.6720 x224. The investment you make in the lives of our students is invaluable.
EBSCO Research Site
King's has access to EBSCO Information Services where students and parents can find information and do research on a broad variety of topics. Below are descriptions of the two main features, followed by a link to the service. Enjoy !
EBSCOhost® Web?
EBSCOhost® is an online reference system offering easy access to a wide variety of popular full text and bibliographic databases. Users can search proprietary databases from EBSCO Publishing, which include nearly 3,000 journals in full text, plus abstracts and indexing for over 5,000 periodicals. Databases also include newspaper coverage, encyclopedic data, compound documents and over 1,200 pamphlets in full text.
Searchasaurus?
Complete with erupting volcanoes, a dinosaur guide, maps and compasses, Searchasaurus is EBSCO's newest user search experience for elementary and middle school students. Available online via the World Wide Web, this colorful, graphical interface makes research simple and fun. Schools and Public Libraries using Primary Search® and/or Middle Search® Plus can access these databases via Searchasaurus. These full text databases are searchable by keyword or by simply clicking on a subject of interest. Search results are clearly displayed, allowing children to easily select articles of interest.
This database has educational merit but contains ideas which are or may not be in agreement with a Christian perspective. The user must evaluate this material critically from a Christian perspective. Please email Mrs. Diaz for the username and password to access this service.
Funding for EBSCO Products is provided by the South Jersey Regional Library Cooperative. SJRLC is part of the New Jersey Library Network. SJRLC's services are funded from State tax funds appropriated by the New Jersey Legislature.
