Dear Parents,
Hello – yes it is us again, your friendly Middle School/High School Administration. This month’s newsletter finds us very busy and beginning to plan for next year. Anyway, here comes the news!!!
1. Spiritual Life
We had spiritual emphasis week. The speaker was Jason George. His topic was on this month’s theme – LOVE.
2. Academics
We have so many exciting things going on in our classrooms. Many of our teachers are beginning to use Web 2.0 tools. Mrs. Bowman shared that she is now having a major paper done completely through google docs. How exciting to have teachers that want to be current and work in the world where our students are live.
2. Athletics
We are anxiously waiting for the middle school boy’s basketball team to play their last game, which will be on Monday, today, Feb 22nd. If they win today’s game they will be undefeated for this season!!!
Varsity playoffs will begin next week.
Continue to pray for Mr. Horton, who has been sidelined since Christmas with a back injury.
3. Dress Down Days for Charity/Ministry and Canned Goods Drive
We are continuing the tradition started last year. We are having a Dress-Down Day for Charity/Ministry every month. The cost to students and staff to participate is $2.00.

If you would encourage your child on these Dress-Down Days to also bring in a canned good or boxed food, this would greatly help the South Jersey Food Bank. We are hoping that these food donations will increase.
4. Fun Information
The King’s Café continues to be hosted by Mrs. Vangie Panagotopulos and continues to be a huge success. The School Store is open Monday, Tuesday and Friday during all three lunches ( 11:15 to 1:15), and on Wednesday and Thursday it is open 7:25 to 8:00PM. Vangie is looking for parent volunteers to help with King’s Café’ and the School Store. Contact Vangie Panagotopulos pango@comcast.net.
6. Dress Code Updates
As a review from last month – students may continue to wear shirts of all the approved colors, not just black, white and red. This will continue indefinitely. As far as the shoe policy, we will continue with no flip flops, bedroom slippers or high heels. Boots are acceptable. At this point students may continue to wear blue, black and kaki pants and skirts. Girls may also wear the kilts that are knee length.
We will be developing a more formal and comprehensive dress code statement that will reflect the options which you and your sons and daughters and our staff have suggested. Stay tuned.
