Middle School
The middle school years are special and unique. Middle schoolers are in the midst of the greatest brain growth of any stage of human life and developmentally, these are crucial years. The decisions they make during this time will help shape who they grow into as young adults. And although they want to make their own decisions, they lack the maturity to make consistently good ones.
A Secure Environment
The middle school years are special and unique. Middle schoolers are in the midst of the greatest brain growth of any stage of human life and developmentally, these are crucial years. At The King’s Christian Middle School, your 7th and 8th grade children will be taught by teachers who understand middle age–who understand that while middle schoolers don’t want to be told what to do, they need someone to walk alongside them and offer them wisdom and guidance that provide the tools they need to make good choices on their own.
A Seamless Transition
The transition from the expectations of early education to the demands of secondary education can be daunting for even the most capable student. At King’s, we are focused on bolstering the foundation that bridges the gap between these two very different time periods. Our middle school program provides students with the tools to strengthen their organizational and time management skills. Our teachers understand that middle school students need them to offer wisdom and guidance to help them make good choices on their own. Middle school students also have athletic and extracurricular opportunities that keep them firmly integrated into the fabric of our school community.
A Life with Christ
Our middle school students begin by looking at who they are, looking at Christ, and, finally, understanding who they are in Christ. Students are challenged to examine each of their academic disciplines through their own eyes and through the Word to develop a biblical worldview. They study the Bible and compare God’s Word to culturally-influenced beliefs. Ultimately, the goal is for the students to grow spiritually, not only through Bible classes and chapels, but through the integration of God’s Word into every facet of their school experience.
Middle School Curriculum
The middle school curriculum is characterized by rigorous academics taught through a variety of methods. Traditional instruction, incorporation of technology, and hands-on experimentation inspire students to perform at their highest potential and to become life-long learners. Every student is challenged and supported to achieve their goals.
Students take classes in mathematics, science, reading and language arts, history, geography, study skills, and more. Starting in seventh grade, students are given the opportunity to take honors-level courses that will set them up for continued honors-level work in high school. The King’s Christian School is a G Suite for Education school. We are accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and Association of Christian Schools International.
