Student Life
…[W]hatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Cor. 10:31 NIV
Athletics
Our students have the opportunity to participate on championship-winning sports teams, including soccer, basketball, baseball and softball, cross-country, and tennis.
Our hearts play a huge role in the game of soccer and in life. Luke 2:52 says Jesus grew in wisdom (mind), stature (physical), and in favor with God and man (spiritual). My desire is that as I coach, we are training our young men up not just to play soccer but to be Godly men who are growing in all three of these areas so that they can impact their world for Christ in whatever they do.–James Duff, former head coach boys varsity soccer.
The King’s Christian School Athletics was selected for the 2020 Best of Cherry Hill Award by the Cherry Hill Award Program, an annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the Cherry Hill area.
Missions
All TKCS students participate in local missions beginning in high school. Students in middle school and high school also have the opportunity to take part in yearly short-term mission trips to locations as close as Philadelphia and as far away as South Africa.
The Missions program at TKCS involves year-long discipleship and training to prepare students for their mission experience.
The 2024 mission team will be traveling to Phoenix, Arizona, over spring break.
Fine and Performing Arts
TKCS students have numerous opportunities to explore their artistic interests. Students begin to participate in our music program in elementary school with annual Christmas and spring concerts. Chorus, concert choir, handbells, and jazz band are some of the musical offerings. Our art program also begins in the elementary school. All students take art classes from Kindergarten through 8th grade and high school students can select art classes all four years. Emerging artists display their work annually at the annual art show, a gallery-style event.
For aspiring actors, TKCS also offers a yearly drama production. Recent performances include “The Importance of Being Ernest,” “Much Ado About Nothing,” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
Annual Retreat
Once a year, students in 8th grade and high school participate in retreats where they grow spiritually and make memories. Last year’s 8th grade enjoyed a three-day retreat at America’s Keswick Conference Center while the high school students spend their time at America’s Keswick or Harvey Cedars Bible Conference.
The retreats are a time of challenge, with team-building activities that encourage students to work together towards a common goal. They are a time of bonding for the high school students at the beginning of each school year and a time of celebration for the 8th grade at the end of their middle school years. They are a time of fun, with marathons, swimming, and scavenger hunts. And they are a time of spiritual growth with worship and challenging messages from inspirational speakers.
Student Council
“Since 1931, the goal of National Student Council (NatStuCo) has been to help all student councils become more effective organizations. NatStuCo represents middle level and high school councils nationwide. It seeks to provide a valuable leadership partnership between students and their school. It creates the opportunity for students to become effective leaders, thus encouraging and influencing a positive school climate.” – natstuco.org
