The King’s Christian School Difference

At TKCS, we welcome families from all Christian denominations who …

  • Believe in the importance of a Christ-centered education
  • Want to be involved in their child’s educational journey
  • Desire the best college preparatory experience

Biblical Worldview

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” – Colossians 2:6,7. At The King’s Christian School, our focus is on Christ — students are taught academic subjects from a biblical perspective as they learn to understand and defend their faith. They also take part in prayer, Bible studies, and weekly chapel, which deepen their knowledge of God’s Word.

Connected Community

Not only are parents actively engaged in our tight-knit community, but staff are also personally invested in each and every child. Teachers come to athletic events and cheer for their students. The band teacher may accompany you to a music store to help select the best equipment for your child. Another teacher may lead a small-group Bible study during lunch. These are just a few ways TKCS faculty go the extra mile.

Educational Excellence

Parents appreciate the continuity of our PK-12th grade education, which offers an intentional focus on preparing students for college, even at early grade levels. Smaller class sizes, service opportunities, enriching extracurriculars, dual credit courses, AP classes, and more provide opportunities for students to excel. Specialized educators are also on staff to support students with learning differences through our Timothy Program.

Admissions & Enrollment

Review The King’s Christian School admissions process and application requirements

Ready to get started? Follow these steps for enrollment:

1.

Submit an inquiry.

Complete a brief form so we can get to know more about you and your child.

2.

Tour the campus.

On your inquiry submission, you can select the best day and time to schedule your tour. We’ll be in touch to confirm your visit. On your tour, you’ll meet with an admissions representative one-on-one, walk our halls, see our classrooms, and meet your child’s teacher.

3.

Complete an optional shadow day.

This is a great way for your child to experience a day in the life of a TKCS student. They’ll be paired one-on-one with another student in their grade level, take part in chapel, and lunch will be provided. Younger students shadow for a half-day, while older students take part in a full-day experience. (For students with IEPs, shadow days can be completed after application submission to assess accommodation needs.)

4.

Submit an application.

Applications are accepted on a rolling admissions basis for the next academic year beginning November 1. A complete application* will require these documents:

  • Academic records/transcripts
  • Copy of child’s birth certificate (only for preschool and kindergarten applicants)
  • For students entering grades K-12, a pastor recommendation form confirming active involvement in a Christian church

*The cost of the application is $75 for preschool and $100 for K-12, and is payable online upon submission.

Additionally, a financial aid application can be submitted through FACTS after the school application is complete or beforehand for families who would like to know their financial aid eligibility prior to applying for admissions. The aid application is open from Nov. 1 – Aug. 31 for the following school year.

5.

Complete an admissions interview.

This step applies to K-12 families (there is no interview required for preschool applicants). During this time, we’ll learn about your child and your family and answer any remaining questions you may have.

6.

Receive notification of acceptance.

Accepted applicants will be notified within a few days via email if there is availability in the grade level they’re seeking. If space is not available, accepted families will be put on a waiting pool until a spot opens.

7.

Complete the enrollment process.

Families will complete a new student enrollment packet, which will be sent through email. An enrollment fee of $100 for preschool and $400 for K-12, payable through FACTS, secures their seat. After completing the online packet and submitting the fee, they will be emailed a Financial Agreement acknowledging their understanding of continuous enrollment. In addition, new families will receive a welcome packet in the summer to help them prepare for the school year.

The Admissions Experience at TKCS

After a few days in our local high school, my son decided he wanted to attend a Christian high school. We had no idea where to start [or] if it was even possible given the school year had already started. Then we met Mimi [TKCS’ Director of Advancement]. She answered all our questions, relieved all of our anxiety, and held my hand through the entire admissions process from start to finish. Our first impression of Kings was stellar because of the admissions team. We are so grateful.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my family have to be Christian to apply to The King’s Christian School?

For families of students applying for admission in grades K-12, one parent or guardian must be a believer in Jesus Christ. (This is not a requirement for preschool.) Additionally, all K-12 families are required to submit a Pastor Recommendation Form that confirms their active involvement in a Christian church.

What if my child has an IEP or a 504 Plan?

We are able to offer academic support services for students in grades K through 12.** If a student qualifies, he or she is provided supplemental instruction in the traditional classroom or through or small-group or individualized pull-out program. Students with learning differences and their parents will meet with the director of the Timothy Program to develop an accommodation plan. This will be completed during the admissions process.

**We currently do not accept preschool students with learning accomodations.

Are there any deadlines for admissions?

No, because we operate on a rolling admissions basis, there are no deadlines to submit your application for admission. Acceptance is based on available space. Applications are accepted beginning November 1 for the following academic year.
